Bev was born Sept. 17, 1940, at Veedersburg, the daughter of Russell and Ida Esther (McElwee) Helms. She was married to Billy Dean Dennis for nearly 50 years; a marriage filled with much love and laughter. He preceded her in death May 9, 2008.

Bev is also preceded in death by her parents; two sons, James Russell Parker and Tim Dennis; sister Lois Hand; and brother Gene Helms.

Bev will be greatly missed by her three sons, Kenny Wayne (Shelly) Parker, Veedersburg, Mike Dennis, Van Wert, Ohio, and Jermey (Kelly Lenfesty) Dennis, Covington; two daughters, Penny Jo Dennis-Pyle, Crawfordsville, and Peggy (Andy) Walden, Crawfordsville; three sisters, Ruth Keerns, Crawfordsville, Laura "Tootie" Clawson, Veedersburg, and Mary Jane Hendrick, Crawfordsville; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Bev enjoyed reading about the Amish, watching Hallmark movies, socializing with her apartment building friends, as well as interacting with her many Facebook friends. Bev also enjoyed game days with her sisters and nieces, working on crafts, sharing food with others and people-watching. Bev was a devoted country and gospel music fan; and she took deep joy in savoring the wind while swinging on her porch.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday Sept. 24 at Dickerson Funeral Home, Veedersburg, with Pastor Tim Lyons officiating. Visitation will begin at noon Friday and continue until the time of service at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Bonebrake Cemetery near Veedersburg.
