Mildred Lorine Harper Bunnie-Jones met her beloved Savior face -to-face at 9:00 p.m. Monday evening September 20,2021.

A veteran educator and elementary school librarian for Knox County Schools,

Bunnie dedicated her life to educating young children and instilling in them a love of reading and learning.

She was a frequent volunteer in the community, serving in the Knoxville Lions Club, Tennessee Right to Life, and was an active member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church for 20 years, where she served as the church librarian, sang with their senior adult choir, and participated in the Church's Eager Beaver group. Prior to serving at Beaver Dam Bunnie was a member of Galilee Baptist Church for 35 yrs. where she sang in the choir and oversaw the church library.

Known as Ms. Bunnie to all who loved her, she had a passion for prayer, a love for Jesus Christ, was an avid fan of Tennessee football, Dolly Parton, Southern Gospel music, and the Great Smoky Mountains. Her love for God and family remained the impetus for everything she did in life and served as a paragon of faith in action to those around her.

Bunnie was the proud "Gramzie" of one grandchild, Tori Aleigha Millington who was a source of continual laughter and her pride and joy.

Bunnie is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Richard Jones; two children; Andy Jones (Kathryne) and Amberlee Jones (P.J.); one grandchild, two sisters, Pennie Williams, and Dorothy King; brother Wayne Harper and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Monday September 27, 2021, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Beaver Dam Baptist Church a funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Dr. Alan Price officiating. Family and friends will meet at East Tn. State Veterans Cemetery on John Sevier Hwy Tuesday, September 28th at 12:15 p.m. for a 12:30 graveside service and internment.
