BOLIVAR- Irene D. Miller, 83, of 708 County Road, passed away Sunday (Sept. 19, 2021) in Jones Memorial Hospital, Wellsville following a lengthy illness.
Born Oct. 5, 1938, in Little Genesee, she was the daughter of Charles and Audrey Keller Wedge. Irene married Charles Miller on Sept. 13, 1958 in Little Genesee. Mr. Miller preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2015.
Irene was a graduate of Bolivar Central School, Class of 1956. She was employed by Acme Electric Co Cuba, Farnsworth Cookie Co. in Cuba, and Jones Memorial Hospital in the housekeeping dept., prior to her retirement.
Irene was a former Girl Scout leader in Bolivar and a former member of the Bolivar Grange.
Surviving are 5 children, Lawrence Miller, Rhonda Slocum, Charlene (James) DiBartolo, Sonya (Norman) Ellis, and Susan Miller, all of Bolivar; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Keith (Alona) Wedge of Bushnell, Fla., Loren Wedge of Ceres, Ronald (Darlene) Wedge of Bolivar and John (Corena) Wedge of Bolivar; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Faith Perkins in 2019; a brother Max Wedge; two sisters, Theda Barth and Blanche Clark.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday (Sept. 22, 2021) at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Roy Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Lawn Cemetery, Bolivar.
