Evelyn Ruth (Griffith) Archer, 86, was born to Alfred and Lula (Perkins) Griffith on February 10, 1935 in Huntsville, Tennessee.

She passed away on September 17, 2021 in Indianapolis, Indiana after a brief illness.

As a young child, her family moved to Cleveland, Indiana. There, she grew up and attended Eastern Hancock Schools.

On November 7, 1960, she was married to the love of her life, Jerry Archer, in Indianapolis, Indiana. They resided in Greenwood, Indiana for over 50 years.

Evelyn worked at Stokely Van Camp for over 30 years and later was employed at Merchandise Warehouse and Oliver Trucking as a customer service representative.

She was an avid fan of Indiana University sports and attended football games for over 50 years. She loved tailgating and spending time with her beloved IU family.

Above all, Evelyn loved her family. Her grandchildren and great-granddaughter were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Archer of Greenwood, IN; her son, Tim (Cathy Collins) Archer of Texas; her daughter, Kim (Nick) Herndon of Flower Mound, TX; her three grandchildren, Tim (Alexis) Archer of Amarillo, TX, Tyler Herndon of Ft. Worth, TX, and Rachel Archer of New York; her great-granddaughter, Anita Archer.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Lula Griffith.

Evelyn will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
