CHESAPEAKE – Claude Hampton Arehart, 78, died September 9, 2021. Claude was born in Staunton, Virginia to the late Houston Linwood Arehart and Maggie Bell Michael Arehart. He was a veteran having served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Claude graduated from the University of Richmond, loved golfing, shooting pool, fishing and above all spending time with his family, especially his son. He was predeceased by his wife, Karen Kay Kirkwood Arehart.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving son Steven Arehart and his wife Amanda of Holland Patent, NY; sister in-law, Georgia Baker; nephews, Ray Buckner and Jason Sample; nieces Barbara Russell, Mary McNutt, Denise LoBianco, and Rachael Sample; and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 26, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 3:30 pm at Altmeyer Funeral Home, Chesapeake. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at Albert G. Horton, Jr, Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk.
