JACK PHILLIPS
(Wednesday, October 9th, 1946 – Monday, September 20th, 2021)
~ Blacksburg -- Jack Marvin Phillips, Jr., 74, of 258 McGill Highway, passed away Monday, September 20th, 2021, at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
~ Born in Clarksville, TN, he was the widower of Gloria Peterson Phillips and the son of the late Jack Marvin Phillips Sr. and Ella Mae Martin Phillips. Mr. Phillips retired from Fiber Industries of Earl and as a school bus driver and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
~ Mr. Phillips is survived by one son, Randy Phillips (Julie) of Blacksburg; one daughter, Wendy Woods (Charles "Woody") of Blacksburg; one sister, Mildred Martin; grandchildren, Logan Phillips, Kalie Scruggs, Maria Phillips, Hunter Gibson; step-grandchildren, Tyler Woods, Matthew Woods, and Kalie Spivey.
~ In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Baby Boy Phillips, his brother, Billy Phillips, and his sister, Judy Harris.
~ Funeral services will be Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Rock Springs Baptist Church, 1184 Rock Springs Road, Blacksburg, SC 29702 with Rev. Dale Welch and Rev. Bob Finley officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery. Interment will follow at Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
~ Hunter Gibson, Jeff Roberts, Lloyd Moss, Colvin Martin, Allen Hardin, Allen Byars will serve as pallbearers.
~ In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303.
~ The family gives special thanks to the nurses at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home--Hailey, Beth, Peggy, and Patches.
~ The family will be at the home of his daughter and son in law, 264 McGill Highway, Blacksburg, SC.
