She was born in Waterloo, the daughter of Darlene (Loy) Hospodarsky and Carl Roberts, and lovingly raised by her mother and step-father, Delmer Hospodarsky.
Becky graduated from Waterloo East High in 1969 and married Dan Whitney on November 6, 1971, in Waterloo. The couple initially lived in Janesville until 1977 when they built their home in Plainfield.
Becky enjoyed making ceramics, playing softball, bowling, and dancing with friends and family. Some of her fondest memories include fishing trips, playing spoons or pepper at the cabin and all of the family vacations.
The couple moved to Fridley, MN in 1985.
Becky worked for General Electric for 25 years.
After retirement, she spent all her time with her husband, kids and four grandkids.
Becky perfected the art of cooking and made it her mission to feed her family well. Every party and holiday involved cooking and spending time together. Her biggest love in life was her four grandchildren and she never missed an event, if possible. She was their biggest fan. Along side them, she cheered on the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Minnesota Vikings.
Becky is survived by her mother, Darlene Hospodarsky of Waterloo; husband, Dan Whitney of Fridley, MN; daughters, Dana Povlitzki and Danielle (Clint) Zane both of MN; 4 grandchildren: Bella, Landon, Austin, and Ashton; sister, Linda Tyler of Chandler, AZ; and brother, Mike (Kim) Hospodarsky of Hudson.
Becky's visitation will be from 4-6:00 pm on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home of Cedar Falls.
