She was born November 18, 1927, to John Chapman Reves and Clara Annie (Tasker) Reves. Elizabeth's family moved to Denton in her teens, following two older brothers who attended "North Texas State Teachers College," currently the University of North Texas. Elizabeth also took her degree from NTSTC.
Over her lifetime, Elizabeth was a piano teacher, baker, bookkeeper, educator, seamstress, a realtor in her later years, generous and devoted to her family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Gateway Baptist Church of Denton, where she was a member.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy McLaughlin of Denton, son Ed Garrett of North Carolina, grandchildren Jamie, Susannah and Daniel McLaughlin, Anne Garrett Bowen, Alicia Garrett Windham, and 8 great-grandchildren.
