As a young man, he was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Korea. He always maintained a deep devotion to his time in the service.
He was married to Shirley May Love on June 7, 1953, and together they had two daughters, Cheryl and Lori. He worked at PPG Industries as a warehouse manager, and was a member of the VFW and St. Paul's Community Church. He had a passion for flying, and enjoyed traveling and camping. He loved his family and was greatly loved by them.
Ira is survived by: his wife, Shirley; children: Cheryl Cross and Lori Lase; grandchildren: Jason and Tia Cross, Kevin and Hannah Lase, Karen and Michael Rutt, Eric and Melissa Lase, and 11 great grandchildren.
