John S. "Beanie" Barbour, 59 of Terre Haute, Indiana died at 2:49 a.m. Saturday, Nov 29, 1997, in Union Hospital. He was a computer analyst with Columbia House.
He was born Aug 14, 1938, in Vigo County, Indiana, to John Barbour and Verna O. Ferran Barbour.
Survivors include his wife Roberta "Bobbi", one son, Scott Barbour of Terre Haute, Indiana; three brothers, Edward Barbour of Chrisman, Illinois, and Joseph Barbour and Jerry Barbour, both of Terre Haute, Indiana; four sisters, Norma McMullen of Terre Haute, Indiana, Rhea Tucker of West Terre Haute, Indiana, Janetta Dellacca of Brazil, Indiana, and Linda McDowell of Guymon, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a 1956 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School, a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving from Oct. 4, 1956 to Oct. 4, 1962, and a member of Lyford Bible Church. Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday Dec 2 in Roselawn Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Coombes officiating. Entombment is in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum in Roselawn Memorial Park. He received full military rites by the VFW #972.
