Catherine Louise (Blake) Yancey was born September 17, 1933 in Newark, New Jersey to Partryce Blake. At age 87, she was peacefully called home on Tuesday, September 14, 2021, in Dayton, Ohio.

Catherine married James Hudgens in 1954 in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and had three children, the late Janice Hudgens, Joyce Hudgens and James Hudgens II. Catherine later married I. Victor Yancey in 1973, and together raised a blended family with Victor's children Kimberly Yancey, Allyson McAllister and Jonathan Yancey.

She was an emergency room nurse for more than 40 years and was an amazing cook and exceptional hostess to many friends and family in her home.

Catherine was a faithful member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church and served on the Altar Guild and was a member of the Episcopal Church Women for many years. She was a faithful member of the Silhouettes of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.

Preceded in death by her daughter, Janice White; her brother Robert, her twin sister Rose Blake; and her grandson, Jonathan McAllister.

Catherine is survived by her children, Joyce, James, Kimberly, Allyson, Jonathan; her beloved niece, Roxanne Robinson; as well as her grandchildren, George, Jerryson, Carl, Trevor, Christopher, Joshua, Jessica, Jack, Lisa, Liza; and numerous great-grandchildren.
