Myrtle Thomas, age 102, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at her home in Carthage.
Born on May 27, 1919, in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Stacy and Irene Gaster Thomas.
Myrtle worked for the CDC in Atlanta.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her siblings: Edwin Thomas, Hazel Thomas Simmons, Wilbur Thomas and Gladys Thomas Marion.
She is survived by nephews: Eddie Thomas and wife Maria, Jimmy Thomas and wife Charlotte, Luke Marion III and wife Joan, Keith Marion and wife Camie, Scott Marion and wife Debbie; nieces: Sandra Thomas and husband Jeff, Carla Duke and husband Dale, Yvonne Capps and husband Clyde and many cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at 11 AM at Shallow Well United Church in Broadway with Eddie Thomas officiating.
