The Lord came by on Good Friday, April 18, 2014, and took Hoyle Stephen Garver home.

Born on Feb. 19, 1927 in Rowan County, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Myrtle Goodman Garver.

A 1944 graduate of Landis High School, he was a lifelong active member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, where he served as the secretary of the Sunday School and was on the church council several times.

Earlier in life, he worked at Cannon Mills, Douglas Aircraft, Teledyne Semiconductor, and retired from Mid State Machine Co. as a machinist. He loved farming and his grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Keith Monroe Garver; his sisters, Mable Walker, Velma Vanpelt, Hazel Johnson, Nita Overcash, Rachel Efird, Wilma Adcock, and brothers, Fred, Ernest and Oscar (Bud) Garver.

Those left to cherish his memory is his wife of 63 1/2 years, Virginia Deal Garver; daughter Sharon Garver Hodges (Slade) and son Steven Miller Garver (Jan) both of China Grove. He is also survived by his sisters, Pauline Brady, Ollie Morrow and Sarah Rebanell Mesimer Carriker. His grandchildren are Eric Cline, Stephanie Burleson (Andy), April Kircher (Jason), Angela Garver and Samantha Garver. He also had two great-grandsons, Keyan and Caden.

Visitation and Services: Visitation will be on Sunday April 20, 2014 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Linn Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove with funeral on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church with the Rev. Joseph Talent and the Rev. Kay Overcash officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Memorials: Memorials may be made to Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church, 750 Mt. Moriah Church Rd., China Grove, NC 28023.
