Charles was born March 7, 1950 in Warrington Township, a son of the late Charles B. and Rebecca J. (Krone) Hoffman, Sr.
He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Charles owned and operated Hoffman's Service Center in Dover for 31 years, retiring in 2015.
He was an avid Penn State Football fan. Charles enjoyed doing yardwork, repairing things, taking care of his house and spending time with his family. He was also a classic car enthusiast.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by his children, Dustin S. Hoffman and wife, Pang of York and Lisa M. Bland and husband, Eric of Williamsburg, VA; two grandchildren, Mackenzie Kennedy and Larissa Chapman; a sister, Penny L. Gearhart of Dover; and a brother, Larry G. Hoffman of York. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy R. Anderson.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Charles' funeral at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Emig Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 47 North Queen Street, Dover. The viewings will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday. Burial will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery, York. Officiating will be Pastor Melvin Matson.
