He was born April 20, 1962 in Waterloo, Iowa to Ronald Jasper & Darlene Marie (Mead) Cook.
Joe was raised in Waterloo then moved to Des Moines.
He was a carpenter extraordinaire both at work and his private craftmanship. Framing a house, siding, windows, furniture, fix-ups, were all in his skill set. This spilled over into his helping neighbors with repairs and chores.
Survivors include wife, Maggie Cook, brother, Mike (Deanna) Cook, sister, Carolyn (Cruz) Mata, son, Joseph Cook, daughters, Crystal Agar, and Brittany Schmidt, five grandchildren, many nieces & nephews, and devoted dogs, Cash & Jake.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald & Darlene Cook, brothers, Ronnie Cook, and David Cook, and dog buddy Sammy.
Joe's family will greet friends from 10:00am, Thursday, September 23, 2021 till funeral service time at 10:30am, Grandview Park Chapel, 3211 Hubbell Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa 50317. A lunch will follow at the chapel and then a procession to the Laurel Hill Cemetery at 12:30pm for burial.
