Samuel A. Filbert.

The above named died at the resident of his daughter, Mrs. Susan Gordon, of this city at 7:30 p.m. Sunday of spinal trouble with complications, aged 67 years and 20 days. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church in this city Tuesday at 10 a. m., after which interment took place in Oakwood cemetery.

Deceased was born in Lycoming county, Pennsylvania, Feb. 21, 1831, and came to this county about 1856 with his sister, Mrs. Almira Crabb, now deceased. He was married to Malinda D. Logan Nov. 25, 1858. Nine children were born to them, three sons and six daughters, all of whom, with the wife, survive. They are: Charles E., Edwin A. of this city; John A. of Danville, Ill.; Mrs. Nancy Bister [sic], Mrs. Mary Cornelius and Mrs. Susan Gordon of this city; Mrs. Pauline Lyon of Milford, Ill.; Mrs. Lillian Falquet and Lydia Herold of Cleveland, O. He was a kind and loving father and had many friends in this city and vicinity who mourn his death. He has been a member of the Lutheran church of this city for many years.
