"James E. McGrath, 76, Kansas City, MO, passed away April 27, 2004, at North Kansas City Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO. Interment in East Slope Cemetery, Riverside, MO.

Jim was born June 20, 1927, in Kansas City, MO. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Jim worked as a truck driver, retiring from Hyman Freightways in 1994, and was a member of the Teamsters Local #541. He was preceded in death by three sisters, a brother and a half-brother.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia (Ruble) McGrath; sons, Michael, Terry and Jerry; daughters, Jeane Leslie, Linda McGrath and Brenda DaMitz; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a brother, Bob McGrath; brothers-in-law, Robert R. Ruble and John Dickerson; sisters-in-law, Ruth McGrath and Kathy Ruble; and several nieces and nephews." The Kansas City Star, April 29, 2004
