Judith "Judy" Dow Estes, age 74, of Owenton, passed away Sunday, September 19, 2021.
Born April 25, 1947, in Owen County, she was the daughter of the late Richard Joseph and Mary Kathryn Howell Goodrich. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Cook and Debbie Perry, and her great-granddaughter Emersyn K. Estes. Judy was a 1966 graduate of Owen County High School and a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church. She served her community in many capacities with nearly 30 years as an EMT for the Owen County Ambulance; Chief of the Owen County Search and Rescue for 1997 & 1998; Assistant Chief for the Owen County Fire Department in 1988 and 2006 and a member of the Grand Paws Search Dog Team. Judy touched many lives in her service to Owen County. She loved and cared for many and will be greatly missed.
She will be missed by her sons, William "David" (Leah) Estes and Greg (Jeniffer) Estes; her grandchildren, Josh (Brittanie) Estes, Adam (Ashley) Estes, Cagan (Ethan) Depew, and Juliana Hall; her great-grandchildren, Raylan, Forrest, Taylor, Bentley, and Addalyn. She is also survived by her siblings, Carol Saylor, Joseph Goodrich, Paula Lilly, Tricia Jonsnon, and Darrell Ernst.
McDonald & New Funeral Homes are in charge of arrangements. Family will receive friends at the Main Street location on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday with Bro. Bill Allen presiding. We respectfully request that masks be worn for all services. Burial will be in the Poplar Grove Cemetery
