James Douglas Whitehead (Shade Tree), 67, of St. Peter passed away on September 19, 2021 at St. John's Hospital Springfield, IL.

James was born August 12, 1954 in Panama City, FL, the son of Lester and Iris (Springman) Whitehead. He married Patricia Ann Montaya on July 10, 1992 in Miami, OK; together they shared 29 years of marriage.
Mr. Whitehead was a retired farmer/truck driver. He grew up on a farm loving the outdoors and working on and rebuilding tractors. James was a light spoken down to earth loving husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Michelle and husband David Schukar; beloved grandson, Scott Hall and his wife Brianna all of Vandalia; daughter, Janie Lee and significant other Jay Clasper of Kinmundy, IL; sisters, Eugenia Hummel of Missouri and Tabitha and husband Ron Marx of Utah; 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He will be dearly missed and we will love and cherish every moment we had together.
