Evelyn M. (Flanders) Marshall, 97, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2018 at Benchmark Senior Living in Billerica. Her husband Leland S. Marshall died in 2011. She leaves behind two daughters, Pamela Marshall and her husband David Emerson of Lexington; Katherine Galdi and her husband David of Millersville, MD; three grandchildren, Benjamin, Michael and Daniel Galdi; a sister, Betty Lou Orell; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Farmakidis, Idella Flanders, and Sylvia Orell. Born and raised in North Adams, she was the daughter of Harold and Margaret (Blake) Flanders. Evelyn graduated from Drury High School in North Adams in 1939. Leland and Evelyn moved to Northborough in 1966 where they raised their family. She worked for the Veterans Administration and other government agencies during and just after WW II. Mrs. Marshall spent her career as an executive secretary and later on ran her own medical transcription business. Her interests included: sewing, gardening, auctions, antiques, and researching family genealogy. Evelyn was a longtime member of Trinity Church in Northborough. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 from 9:15 – 10:15 a.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main Street Northborough. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Trinity Church, 23 Main Street Northborough. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Church. Burial will take place at a later date.
