Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Summers-KistlerFuneral Home in Olney. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Dr. Berton Heleine officiating. Burial with full military rites conducted by Olney veterans organizations will be in Haven Hill Memorial Garden in Olney.
Mr. Michels was born June 2, 1928, in Richland County, the son of Ennis and Cleo (Omsby) Michels. He married Delores "Dee" Roe on May 12, 1972. She survives.
He worked in the oilfield and owned a pump shop. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of American Legion.
Mr. Michels is survived by his wife, Dee Michels, of Olney; daughters, Jackie Buerster, of Noble, and Terri Deain and her husband, Brent, of Noble; stepdaughter, Pam Sells, of Harrisburg, Ark.; stepson, Steve Ward, of Salem; stepdaughter, Kim Harmon and her husband, Mark, of Robinson; stepdaughter, Carol Gibson and her husband, Chuck, of Noble; stepson, Carl Taulbee and his wife, Shelley, of Kentucky; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one sister; and granddaughter, Celena.
