Donald was born in Spartanburg, SC on August 24, 1933, to the late Robert Lee and Easter Viola Henderson. Donald is also preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Frances Henderson.
Donald was a diesel mechanic for many years. Donald also served in the U.S. Army, 101 First Airborne.
Donald is survived by his son, Donnie Henderson of Etowah, NC; grandchildren, Kayla and Cooper Henderson; sisters, Vivian Henderson of Tryon, NC and Sharon Henderson of Wesley Chapel, FL; and brothers, Gene Henderson of Monks Corner, SC, Doug Henderson of Henderson of Tryon, NC, and Dean Henderson of Fairview, NC. Donald is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Shuler Funeral Home in Hendersonville, NC on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 11AM with a funeral service to follow at 12PM with Rev. Dewy Barnwell officiating. The interment will take place immediately following at Shepherd Memorial Park.
