Garland May Mosley, age 86, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021 at Nash UNC Health Care from declining health. Born in Nash County (Langley's Crossroads), NC on June 3, 1935, he was the son of the late Carl Bailey Mosley and Ora Alberta Langley Mosley. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Sara "Mop" Ragland Mosley; his father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Ragland; his sister-in-law, Jane Hurley Mosley; and his brother-in-law, Bennett Lindsey.

Garland retired from Textilease Corporation after 34 years of service. Then went on to work for Ray Joyner at Fisher Auto Parks for ten years. After retirement, he drove the veterans to their doctor's appointments at Duke Hospital for eight years. If you asked Garland what his greatest accomplishment in life was, he would always say raising his family, whom he was so proud of. Garland was a friend to all those that was blessed to know him. He was a man of great faith and served as a Deacon for several years at this home church, Barnes Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Garland also served in the Army Reserves for six years. Garland was a very talented Duck Carver who he shared with his loved ones and friends. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.

Garland's legacy and memories will always be in our hearts. To know Garland was to love him.

Garland is survived by his son, Timothy Mosley (Robin); his grandchildren who he adored, Travis Hare (Nicole), Jason Hare (Nicole), and Brandon Hare (Ashley); his great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Mae Hare; his brother, Jerry W. Mosley (Lana); his sister, Carolyn M. Lindsey (Wayne); his niece, Kim M. White (Gregg); his nephews, Steve Lindsey (Nancy), Phill Lindsey (Jenny), Carlton Mosley (Angela); several cousins; and his dog, Gator.

A Graveside Service to celebrate Garland's life will be held on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Dick Singleton officiating. A visitation with the family will follow the service at the graveside.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made in Garland's memory to Barnes Hill Free Will Baptist Church, 5592 West Mount Drive, Nashville, NC 27856.
