Charles Maxwell Curtis, 82, died September 18, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on August 19,1939. He was the son of the late Alta Hill Curtis and Clareene Robertson Curtis of Lowndes County, MS. Charles graduated from Caledonia High School. He attended Freed-Hardeman College and Holmes Jr. College.
In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his daughter, Dorothy Renee Curtis.
Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Wiggins Curtis, of Corinth; a son Charles Curtis, Jr. (Delia) of Corinth; daughters Charlotte Curtis and Scarlet Curtis of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren, Anna Curtis Ross of Florence, AL, Charles Curtis III of Corinth, Patrick Curtis Cox of Tallahassee, FL, Janie Renee Curtis of Tallahassee, FL; and one great grandson, Andrew Bentley Ross of Florence, AL; his sister Rachel Allsup (Don) of Macon, MS; brothers, George Curtis (Brenda) of Knoxville, TN and Dr. David Curtis (Lynn) of Columbus ,MS; nephews, Haze Allsup, Curt Allsup, Ben Curtis, Stephen Curtis, and Drew Curtis; nieces Leigh Ann Rieth and Jenny Curtis Bennett; and several great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Tuesday the 21st at 11:00 am at Foote Street Church of Christ with Reed Swindle, John Dodd and G.W. Childs officiating. A visitation will also be held at Foote Street Church of Christ on Monday the 20th from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. A visitation will also be held one hour before the service. Burial will be at Lone Oak Church of Christ in Steens, MS, with Harold Jones officiating.
