Born in McDowell County, WV, he was the son of Virginia (Rose) Kennedy of Jolo, WV, and the late John David Kennedy. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan and McDowell Counties and was a member of Pine Grove Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and heavy equipment operator. Phil enjoyed hunting, fishing, working and riding horses.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Doug Kennedy.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kim (Johnson) Kennedy of Pilgrims Knob, VA; his mother, Virginia (Rose) Kennedy of Jolo, WV; 3-Children: Chadric (Angel) Kennedy of Pounding Mill, VA, Chantel (Shane) Blevins of Whitewood, VA, Ashley Rowe of Raysal, WV; Grandchildren: Chase Kennedy, Cason Rowe, Cameron Rowe and future grandchild, Caleb Anthony Kennedy; Brothers: Randy (Barbara) Kennedy of Jolo, WV, Larry (Norma) Kennedy of Jolo, WV, Gary (Tonya) Kennedy of Jewell Ridge, VA; Sisters: Robin Collins of Cedar Bluff, VA, Sherry Kennedy of Charleston, WV, Connie (Larry) Vance of Bradshaw, WV, Donna Kennedy of North Carolina.
Also, survived by special friends, Scotty Williams, Thomas Addair and Donnie Rife; and several special nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral Services for PHILLIP ANTHONY KENNEDY will be conducted Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Kelly and Jason Keen officiating with burial to follow in the Goodman Cemetery on Three Forks.
Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
