Dolores was born in Wyandotte MI, on Sept 6, 1941. She and her husband Paul attended Garland TX schools from elementary to high school, graduating in 1960.
Dolores and Paul have been members of First Baptist Church Wills Point for over 50 years, serving in many capacities including music, Vacation Bible School, fellowships, and mission education ministries. She has had many careers over the years including a hairdresser, cosmetologist, and high school study hall monitor. Dolores' creativity was also expressed through Fancy Fashions, her sewing business which she and Paul managed for over 20 years, supplying square dance retailers throughout the world. After her double lung surgery in 2012, she transitioned her skills to make close to 300 blankets as donations for children served by the Court Appointed Children's Advocacy in Canton, TX.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Georgia Riker.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Paul Ernest Phillips of Wills Point, whom she met at FIrst Baptist Church of Garland during their high school years; her sister Sylvia Mitchell of Garland, TX; her brother Bobby (Gloria) Riker of Bocolod City, Philippines; her daughter Pennie (Patrick) Carnes of Grapevine, TX; her son Miles (Kristi) Phillips of San Antonio, TX; as well as 6 grandchildren.
