Abingdon, VA – David Shawn Breeding, age 54, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy, VA.
Born in Ohio, he was a son of Victor V. and Carol Sutherland Breeding.
David was a 1985 graduate of Council High School and self-employed as a land surveyor. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Dewey and Bertie Sutherland, and paternal grandparents, Eulis and Helen Breeding.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his wife, Teresa Ann Breeding, a daughter, Elizabeth Breeding of Abingdon, a son Colson (Alyssa) Breeding of Bristol, TN, grandchild, Sebastian Wyatt Breeding, a brother, Gregory (Jackie) Breeding of Danielsville, GA, and a nephew, Caleb Breeding.
Funeral services will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Jim Duty and Garnell Gilbert officiating.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Sutherland Cemetery, Nancy Hollow, Haysi, VA.
The procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday prior to the funeral service.
