Born in Humboldt, Tennessee on November 25, 1946, she was the daughter of William G. and Rebecca Gene (Farmer) Conrad. Susan spent her childhood in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and was a graduate of Linden Hall School for Girls in Lititz, Pennsylvania.
In 1969, she moved with her family to Camden where her parents founded The Owl and The Turtle Bookshop & Motel. Susan worked there for 30 years. She was a communicant at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Camden, where she has enjoyed singing in the choir.
Predeceased by her parents, William G. Conrad, Sr., and Rebecca Gene Conrad, she is survived by three brothers, William G. Conrad, Jr. and his wife, Jan; John C. Conrad and his wife, Sandy; and Jeffrey M. Conrad.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 10:30AM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Camden. Interment will be in the Seaview Cemetery in Rockport.
