Christopher Charles Burgess, born in Franklin and a lifelong resident of Verdunville, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 46 on Friday, September 10, 2021 in Morgan City, LA.
Chris, as everyone knew him by, enjoyed spending time with friends and cooking, even more so when there was a New Orleans Saints game on. Chris was well liked by all who knew him. He could be quiet at times but once you got him to open up it was hard to get a word in after. He was hard working and always on the go. He will truly be missed by friends and family.
Chris is survived by two daughters, Cashara Lockhart of Ruston, LA and Tierra Mitchel of Baldwin, LA, his aunt, Bernadette Burgess, who had a major part in raising him, of Verdunville, LA; and his cousin, Corey Burgess, who he grew up with like brothers, of Franklin, LA, and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
Chris was preceded in death by his loving mother, Paulette Burgess.
