Donald was born April 29, 1944, to Ruby Parsons and George Holland in West Virginia. He was a gardener, and especially enjoyed the task of burning brush. Donald worked as an arborist.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by sisters Lucille Jackson and Ethel Holland.
He is survived by his spouse, Patricia Owenby; children, Angela Jenkins (Jessie), Donny Holland, and Troy Gunter, all of Asheville, North Carolina; siblings, Christine Stroud (Paul), George Holland, Jr. (Tina), Carolyn Christian, Timothy Holland and Robbie Holland (Ruby) of West Virginia, Guff Holland of Asheboro, North Carolina, and Louise Keller of Newport, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jessica Jenkins, Kayla Powell (James), Rayna Holland and great grandaughter McKenzee Powell, all of Asheville, North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews. Also, his beloved dog Tiffany was his sidekick.
A private memorial service will be held with immediate family.
