Carolyn Jean Lyons, 82, of Lumberton, NC, passed away on September 14, 2021 UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, NC.
She was born on June 3, 1939 in Lumberton, NC.
Carolyn was a hardworking lady until her health started to decline in 2016. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Meadow Baptist Church. She never met a stranger at all and loved to sit and talk with her friends. She loved to shop and go out to eat with her family. She was a loving mother, sister, and a true friend to all. Her smile would brighten the sky on a cloudy day. Her love and kindness will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Lyons; her parents, Roscoe Sinclair and Minnie Sinclair; two sisters, Vivan Sinclair and Liz Houston; and four brothers: Johnny Mack Sinclair, Rodney Sinclair, Leroy Sinclair, and Roscoe Sinclair.
Carolyn is survived by her three daughters: Matasha McIver (Tony) of Lumberton, NC, Linda McNeill of Lumberton, NC, and Sheila Mackey (Percy) of Alabama; three sons: DuQuone Wallace of Lumberton NC, Billy Ray McNeill (Ida Mae) of Lumberton, NC, and Samuel Lyons of Lumberton, NC; three sisters: Patricia White (Raymond) of Lumberton NC, Diane Sinclair of Lumberton, NC, and Velma Lee Young of Lumberton, NC; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at Blanks Family Cemetery in Lumberton, NC with Pastor Jerry McCoy officiating.
