Kevin Michael Cox, age 69, died September 13, 2021 following a very aggressive and short battle with cancer.

He was born the youngest child of Robert H. Cox, Sr. and Anita (Sershon) Cox on July 17, 1952. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1970 and proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War as a Journalist. He used the G.I. Bill to attend Southwest Minnesota State University majoring in Broadcast Communications, and returned to the Fox Valley where he worked for WKAU, WROE and WYNE radio stations. Finally, he worked for Appleton Coated Paper Company until his retirement.

Kevin was well recognized in community theater productions from Kaukauna to Oshkosh for over 40 years and was inducted into the Kaukauna Community Players Hall of Fame in recognition of his many years of participation. He found a new stage when karaoke became popular, and he spent many evenings with friends in area establishments singing everything from country music, show tunes, rock music, and his favorite blues.

Kevin enjoyed vacationing to Chicago, New York, Disney World, the Black Hills and lots of mini get-aways with his wife, Mary. He was an avid railroad enthusiast with a huge collection of train books, videos, and recordings. Kevin enjoyed the Packers but really loved baseball, especially the Brewers and Cubs.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 30 years, Mary (Hoehne); son Gregor Cox (Andrea Libber) and their children Lorelai and Spencer; son Patrick Cox (Alexis) and their children Olyvia and Dalton; brother Robert in Minnesota, brother Patrick (Samm) in Nekoosa, sister Judy Heindel (Dan) in Kaukauna; sisters-in-law Lynn Stumpf (John), Barbara Bies, and Mary (Verstegen) Hoehne; brothers-in-law Robert Hoehne, Jr. (Sharon) and Donald Hoehne (Marcia), many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Mary, niece Jill Heindel, parents-in-law Robert and Marjorie Hoehne, brothers-in-law Gerald Bies, and Gerald Hoehne, and nephew Nick Bies. He was further preceded in death by several good friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna) beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. David McElroy, O. Praem. officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319 and American Legion Post 41. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery.

Kevin had a great life, just not enough years to enjoy with his family and friends. His sons Gregor and Patrick were the greatest joy, love, and achievement in his life, and he wished he would have lived to see his beautiful grandchildren grow up. Keep your loved ones close and treasure every moment you have together.
