Michael Lewis Floyd, age 62, a resident of Troy, AL died Friday, September 17, 2021, at Troy Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Services for Mr. Floyd will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 10am in the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home of Troy with Rev. Jeremy Davis, Rev. John Brannon and Rev. Blake Cotter officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2021, from 5-7pm at Dillard Funeral Home of Troy.
Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a hardworking, loyal, and devoted man in everything he did. He was a great man of faith and poured his heart into men's ministry and the Obedient Walk Ministry. He loved the Auburn Tigers and was a proud graduate of Auburn with a degree in food science. Mike also had a passion for bringing the American Chestnut tree back into the US. He spent many hours tending to his chestnut trees and always awaited their harvest. More than anything though he loved his family. He was a fine example of what a husband and father should be. Mike was always happy to dote on his granddaughter and was eager to use his woodworking skills to build his granddaughter anything she may need. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Kerry Floyd; daughter, Kaitlin Floyd; granddaughter, Adley Floyd-Robbins; sister: Dorothy Wilkins (Glen) and Barbara Holladay, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lewis and Eula Floyd and sister, Nancy Schlehmeier.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Taylor Robbins, Dustin Wilkins, Mitchell Harris, Chris Schlehmeier, Tim Spivey and Kris Johnson.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to his granddaughter's college fund.
