Mr. Steve Ray Smith, age 65, of Aragon, GA, passed away Friday, September 17, 2021, in a local hospital.

Mr. Smith was born in Rockmart, GA on December 7, 1955, son of the late Joseph Ray Smith and the late Wilma Gene Gaston Smith. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Barry Lee Smith. Mr. Smith attended Pepperell Schools in Lindale. He was a skilled carpenter for a number of years but prior to his retirement, he was employed as a truck driver with J. & D. Grading Company in Adairsville. Mr. Smith was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.

Survivors include his companion, Darlene Bone, Aragon; a daughter, Sharon Haney, Calhoun; 2 sons, Phillip Smith (Stacie) and Jeffrey Smith (Rebekah), all of Taylorsville; a brother, Jimmy Smith (Sharon), Aragon; several grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 20, 2021, at 3pm at Flint Hill Baptist Church. His nephew, the Rev. Tyler Smith, and the Rev. Chris Johnson will officiate. Interment will follow in Flint Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Flint Hill Baptist Church on Monday from 1pm until the service hour.
