He will be sadly missed by his six children, Raelene Boisclair, Sharon Scheibenpflug, Arian Boisclair, John Boisclair Jr., Kimberly Boisclair, and Duane Boisclair. He was the loving grandfather of 19 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Edna Boisclair and his sisters and brothers, Daniel Boisclair, Norman Boisclair, Richard Boisclair, Lucien Boisclair, Jeannette Boisclair, Vivian Houston, Blanche Kerrigan, Charles Boisclair, Robert Boisclair and Roland Boisclair.
John was a Korean War Veteran, in the U.S. Army, 73rd Heavy Tank Battalion. He was honored with 3 bronze stars and proudly wore his veteran hat at local restaurants and diners.
John worked for 34 years at Electric Boat as a submarine painter. He was an avid hunter and a man of many talents and hobbies. Some of which included beekeeping, woodworking, chair caning, fishing, painting, gardening, and antiquing. John was a farmer who loved caring for his peacocks, pheasants, and chickens.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at 1 p.m. at the Shannock Baptist Church, 1632 Shannock Road, Shannock, RI 02875. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm. at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, corner of Main and Bank streets, Hope Valley, R.I.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Shannock Baptist Church or St. Joseph's Indian School, PO Box 326, Chamberlain, SD 57326, in memory of John Boisclair.
