LEWISBURG — Isola Burns Thompson, 97, passed away Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at Greenbrier Manor Nursing Home.

Born March 7, 1908, at Sam Black, she was the last surviving child of the late John and Effie Burns.
Mrs. Thompson was a retired cook from the FCI-Alderson prison, was a member of Lewisburg United Methodist Church and was a member of the Methodist Women at Sam Black Church prior to moving to Lewisburg.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Ernest Taylor Sheppard and Joe Thompson; three sisters, Inetz, Io and Imogene; and three brothers, Lawrence, Lloyd and Lacy.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances Louise Zicafoose of Lewisburg; a stepdaughter, Mary Ann Garnett and husband, William, of Richmond, Va.; grandchildren, Sara Frances Love, Samuel Andrew Zicafoose, Cathy Sharon Zicafoose and Jennifer Carr; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Amanda and Amy; special friend, Jack Swartout of Lewisburg; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.

Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Lewisburg, with the Rev. Dr. Joseph S. Kenaston and the Rev. Elizabeth Yost officiating. Entombment will follow in Wallace Memorial Mausoleum, Clintonville.
Friends may call one hour before service Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lewisburg United Methodist Church.
