Mrs. Mary Catherine Crawford, formerly of 111 West Fifth St., died on Thursday afternoon, June 16, at the Vindobona Nursing Home, Braddock Heights, after a lengthy illness. Her husband, the late Walter A. Crawford, Sr., predeceased her in April, 1962.
She was born in Frederick, on February 28, 1897, the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Ida May Ditch Cole. Mrs. Crawford was a member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.
Surviving are three sons, Walter A. Crawford Jr., Rt. 4, John E. Crawford Sr., Frederick, and James F. Crawford, Bloomfield Hill, Mich., one daughter, Mrs. Casper F. Betson Sr., Frederick, one brother, William W. Cole, Frederick, seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Smith, Fadeley, Keeney, Basford Funeral Home, (formerly Etchison's), 106 East Church St., on Saturday, June 18, and Sunday, June 19, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home on Monday, June 20, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Maurice D. Asbury, priest in charge of Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
