William Oliver Cline, 71, of Indianola formerly of Des Moines, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the VA Medical Center in Des Moines.

A visitation will be held Monday, September 20, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home in Des Moines with military rites and burial to follow at the Iowa Veteran Cemetery.

William was born February 13, 1950 in Iowa to James and Yvetta (Oliver) Cline.

He received his education in Des Moines where he graduated from Tech High School in 1968.

He then entered the United States Marines where he proudly serviced as a Corporal during the Vietnam War.

Following his discharge, he returned to Iowa and worked for Colonial Bakery and later drove school bus for the Des Moines Schools and also DART.

He is survived by one brother James (Debra) Cline Jr of Council Bluffs and one sister, Pauline (Armando) Ortiz of Harlington, TX. four children, Christopher (Sherry) Cline, Melisa Cline, Michelle (Russ) Channon and Erin Cline all of Des Moines, grandchildren, Kensie (Sam), Samantha, Haley, Tobie, D.J., R.J., Lindaja and Lejlah and great grandchildren, Lucas, Ariea, Alex, Dallas and Skylina.

He was preceded in death by his wife Charlene Cline and his parents, James and Yvetta Cline.
