Carol Louise Long, age 86, of Richland Center, died peacefully at Onalaska Care in Onalaska. She was born in Richland County on November 9, 1934, the daughter of Adolf and Arda (Burkhamer) Hagenston. Louise graduated from Richland Center High School in 1952. She was united in marriage with Theron D. Long on September 21, 1952, at the Evangelical United Methodist Church in Richland Center. Louise was a dedicated mother, wife, and homemaker. She also sold Avon, worked with her husband at his milk testing site, and worked at Montgomery Ward for her best friend, Joan (Huffman) Clark. Louise loved ceramics and would often gift others with one of her creations. Louise was a member of the V.F.W. Women's Auxiliary. She was a faithful member of the church, she served in many capacities, her favorite being a Kindergarten Sunday School Teacher. She dearly loved her church Circle Group and Builders Group.

Survivors include her daughter Shelly (Kenneth Brown) Long of Holmen, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and stepfather Joseph Bock (Carol Bock).

A graveside service for Carol and Theron will be held on their 69th wedding anniversary on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Richland Center Cemetery. The family suggests memorials in Louise's name be directed to Onalaska Care in her memory. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
