Donna P. Bowen, of CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. formerly of Charlotte NC and Ballston Lake NY, passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2021 at Our Lady of Mercy in Guilderland, NY. Born on July 17, 1946, in Troy, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late George, Sr. and Gloria H. Cietek, sister to the late George Cietek Jr, Thomas Cietek, Mary Cietek and Donald P. Cietek. Mrs. Bowen was a graduate of Troy High School and attended the College of Brockport and Hudson Valley Community College. Mrs. Bowen worked as a candy striper at Samaritan Hospital in Troy before becoming a homemaker for her family. Mrs. Bowen married her late husband, George S Bowen, Jr. on August 13, 1966, and was married for 42 years before his passing. She is the Mother to three daughters, Stephanie Campbell, the Late Andria Bowen Tooke and Nicole Malachowski. Mrs. Bowen enjoyed many hobbies including bowling, tennis, baking, gardening, needlepoint, fishing, camping, boating, reading, watching her Panthers play football, NASCAR, and spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Bowen is survived by her daughters Stephanie (Jeff) Campbell of Stoneville, NC and Nicole (Robert) Malachowski of Rexford NY, granddaughter Brittanie Hewitt of Madison, NC, grandson Nikolas Malachowski of Rexford NY, great grandson Declan Purdy of Madison NC. Mrs. Bowen is also survived her nephew Daniel (Bonnie) Bowen, niece Lisa Medokowich, cousins James and Donald Smith, Step-Grandchildren Kevin Hewitt, Jr. of Mechanicville, NY and Danielle (Mark) Beck of Charlotte, NC.
Services will be held on September 25, 2021 beginning at 9:30-11:00 am for calling hours followed by a short service at 11:00 am and burial at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford NY at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
