Jose J. Rios passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. He was 71 years old.
Son of the late Juan Rios and Haydee Aviles Rios, he was born on April 2, 1950 in the Bronx. He was a retired District Manager for the Chrysler Corporation in Tappan, NY. Jose was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War; a member of St. Anastasia Church in Harriman; and a member of V.F.W. Post #8858 in Harriman.
Survivors include his loving wife, Anna V. Caamano Rios at home; son, Joseph J. Rios and his girlfriend Alexa Kaiser of Chester; daughter, Danielle Matovic and her husband Michael of Rock Tavern; sisters: Nilsa Santiago of the Bronx and Zeneida Valentin of Puerto Rico; nieces, nephews and cousins; and three grandchildren: Sean, Alaina and Juliana.
Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Smith, Seaman & Quackenbush, Inc. Funeral Home, 117 Maple Avenue, Monroe. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at St. Anastasia Shrine Church, 21 North Main Street, Harriman. Interment will follow at St. Anastasia Cemetery in Harriman.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
