She was born Dec. 15, 1963, in Philadelphia, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Pastor Joyce Lee Hairston Tate and Nathaniel Harper.
She was married to Pastor Tyrone Redmon, who survives. In addition to her husband, the Rev. Tyrone Redmon, Lisa leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, TyLisa Shavon Redmon of Fayetteville; her step-father, James Mott Tate; five brothers, Lonnie (Teresa) Harper of Statesville, James (Sophia) Davidson of Cleveland, N.C., Anthony (Deborah) Harper of Troutman, Nathaniel (Regina) Harper of Philadelphia, Pa., and Lucas Chambers of Mooresville; two sisters, Tonya Tate and Tammy Tate, both of Charlotte; two sisters-in-law, Terri (Derrick) Cunningham of Concord, and Tawania (John) Mykins of Harmony; father-in-law, James Alfred Redmon; mother-in-law, Annie B. Redmon, both of Harmony; a special friend, Dean Mathis of Charleston, S.C.; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her grandmother, Viola Tate; nephew, James Richard Cubertson; and her grandfather, Bishop Henderson Hairston.
Lisa was a 1982 graduate of North Iredell High School. She was a member, and First Lady, of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Claremont. She was also a member of the Pleasant Grove Choir.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church, Harmony. The Rev. Lawrence Norris, pastor, will officiate, and the Rev. Norman C. Dudley will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Members of the family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral, 1-2 p.m., but will assemble at the residence of her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Alfred Redmon, 185 Redmon Road, Harmony.
