Jeremy J. Bishop
Big Rapids, MI
July 22, 1978 - July 9, 2021

Jeremy John Bishop, 42, of Big Rapids, passed away peacefully at Spectrum Health Blodgett Hospital on Friday, July 9, 2021, with the love and support of his family and friends. He was born July 22, 1978, in Big Rapids and was a 1997 graduate of Big Rapids High School. He was the Career Center Electronics Student of the Year his senior year. For several years, he worked at Big Rapids Cash and Carry, followed by a twenty year career at Universal Rent-To-Own in customer service, sales, and management. He was also a self-employed carpenter, specializing in remodeling. Jeremy was particularly proud of remodeling several homes in Big Rapids for Red Bull Rentals, resulting in the company receiving a Good Neighbors Award, installing a bathroom at Our Brother's Keeper, and his crowning glory, remodeling and renovating the interior of Red Fox Market for his life-long friend, Clint Zimmerman.

Jeremy, known as Germ to friends and family, was an intelligent, compassionate, extremely witty (you didn't want to be on the wrong side of his sense of humor), man. He had a love of music, especially Pink Floyd and Queen, and enjoyed the time he spent performing with the band, Weddg, on keyboards and vocals.

Jeremy is survived by his mother, Linda (Joel) Littke; father, John (Diane) Bishop; brother, Jason Bishop; sister, Jamie (Matt) Cook; niece and nephew Madelyn and Brady Cook; two step-brothers and four half-sisters; aunts Laurie Hamel, Karen Hogenson, Jill Bishop, Sheila Hewitt Lee, Lenore Shipley; uncles Steve (Ruth) Bishop, Dan (Denise) Sims, David (Carla) Sims, and Steven (Kirstin) Sims; and numerous cousins whom he adored. Jeremy had many friends who loved and supported him over the years; you held a special place in his heart, and each one of you know who you are. He also cherished his animals, Sist, Chester, and Skeeter.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Dorothy Sims, Allen and Elizabeth Bishop; uncles Stuart Hamel, David, Walter, and Gary Bishop; and best friend, Jeremy Gulseth. A memorial gathering will be held in September, date and place to be determined.
