Bruce was born on April 13, 1961 in Indianapolis to Ivan and Mary (Harshberger) Jones of Michigan. He graduated from White Cloud High School in 1979, and then pursued secondary school in engine mechanics.
Bruce met his wife, Melissa K Hersberger in November of 1984 at Mount Joy Conservative Mennonite Church. They married on August 22, 1987, and went on to have two children, Courtland and Seth. He then went on to be the grand-father of two, Kaleb Scott and Meeka Rae who called him Papaw.
While being a dedicated and loving husband and father, Bruce loved to pour his life into his grandchildren. He also enjoyed vacationing, camping, and being a handy man. Bruce's trade was an electrician with L&M Electric for 21 years.
Throughout his life, Bruce held an unwavering faith in God, which he led by example with those around him. His joyful personality showed through his laughter and smile. He was attending Sugar Grove Church, Goshen, when the Lord called him home.
He is survived by his wife Melissa, two sons, Courtland (Kelsey) of Michigan and Seth of Elkhart, two grandchildren Kaleb and Meeka, a brother, Dale (Donna) Jones of Delaware and his two sisters, Julie (Tom) Kuhns and Shelia (Warren) Gingerich, both of Michigan; and He was preceded in death by his parents.
His viewing will be at Sugar Grove Church on Friday, September 24, 2021, from 3 to5 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 25, also at the church.
Burial will follow at Forest Grove Cemetery, Middlebury.
