Michael Carter unexpectedly passed away on September 14, 2021 at the age of 69. He was surrounded by his family who loved him dearly.
Mike was born in Sparta, Tennessee on February 15th, 1952 to Lenwood and Josie Carter. He grew up in Clyde, Ohio where he attended Clyde High School and found his love of music. He was an accomplished drummer and musician and played in many bands including the Mixed Company and Lock, and Stock and Barrel.
Mike was married to his soulmate, Judy (Meyer) Carter, for fifty years. They met and started dating as teenagers at Battle of the Bands where Mike's band was competing. They raised their children in Fremont and Huron, Ohio. Mike loved spending time with Judy, his children and grandsons, drinking cold beer and loving/hating the Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his wife, Judy (Meyer) Carter; his daughter, Jennifer von Durckheim (Wolf); his son, Matt Carter; sisters, Patty Ysaguirre and Lynda Ridall; and grandsons, Harvey, Maximilian, Leopold, and Arlo.
Due to COVID, a private service will be held with immediate family. A celebration of life will be held in the future.
