Susan was born April 9, 1954 to Byron and Anna Mae (Bierwirth) Engelbrecht at Washington.
She was united in marriage to Thomas Schneider on May 31, 1975 at Zion-St. Paul United Church of Christ in Bay.
Susan worked at the University of Missouri Hospital in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (N.I.C.U. ) as a pediatric nurse and later she worked as a pediatric nurse for St. Mary's in Jefferson City. In her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling and visiting antique stores along the way. Her favorite thing to do was making Christmas and all the holidays memorable for her family, which involved many days of shopping, baking, and especially decorating for Christmas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Byron and Anna Mae Engelbrecht; her brother, Brent Engelbrecht, and infant brother, Brian Engelbrecht.
Her survivors include her husband, Thomas Schneider; children, Jason and wife Kelli Schneider of Olathe, Kan., Travis Schneider of Jefferson City, Todd and wife Kristy Schneider of Jefferson City, and Tyler and wife Rachel Schneider of Rosebud; brother, Mike Engelbrecht of Bay; sister, Barb Lee and Jerry of Millersburg; sister-in-law, Loretta Engelbrecht of Hermann; and eight grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville with Father Wayne Boyer officiating. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept 19th at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville. Burial will be at St. Paul's Cemetery in Bay.
