Funeral Services for Georgia Gore Taylor, will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Gowen-Smith in Shelbyville, Tennessee with Brother Jimmy Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery in Wartrace.

Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 10:00 am until the time of service.

Mrs. Taylor passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Diversicare of Arab in Alabama.

Mrs. Georgia was born on Tuesday, October 29, 1929 in Wartrace, Tennessee to the late George Gore and Annie Ray Dean Gore.

She was a high school graduate and also went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in education. Georgia was the Valedictorian of her graduating class at Wartrace High School. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Honor Society and Mortar Board. Georgia also worked as a librarian at the University of Washington in Seattle. She was of the Presbyterian faith.

On July 1, 1951 she married Dr. Robert Franklin Taylor and they shared 67 years together before his passing in 2019. After marriage Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker, and also served as a Cub Scout den mother.

Her survivors include one son: Dr. Robert Dean Taylor and his wife Jo Ann of Arab, Alabama, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter: Kathryn Ann Taylor McMasters in 2015, and one son in law: Michael McMasters in 2018.
