Helen passed away in the comfort of her home on September 6, 2021. She was born
Helen Lou Allison on October 28, 1933 to Charles H. and Etta (Carter) Allison in Monroe County, Iowa. She was the youngest of 11 siblings. After leaving home, she married and had two children, Linda and Rick.
In 1958 she was attending a Christian Church at the time. In August of that year, her
sister, Eva and family, came back from the Int'l Conv of Jehovah's Witnesses in New
York and were telling her about the convention. The next week Helen started going
to the meetings at the Kingdom Hall in Silvis, IL, where Brother & Sister Lindegard
offered to study with her. She started studying in Sept of that year.
She learned from the King James Bible at Psalm 83:18 that God's name is Jehovah.
She later attended the Moline Cong and was baptized on June 27, 1959.
She and her family moved to Missouri in 1971.
She was a go-getter who supported herself and her family in many ways. She had
various businesses, such as a skating rink and later a Bake Shop. After that, while on
her own, she studied and became a Registered Medical Technician through the State
of Missouri.
While living in the area, she met David Kasterke Jr. They were married on June 24,
1989 surrounded by family and friends. They enjoyed traveling, living various places
and making new friends wherever they went. She loved making meals and showing
hospitality to others.
She said the two best things in her life were getting the truth and being married to
David. She also loved the Pioneer ministry. She pioneered from 1990-1998 and then
started again in 2009. Her favorite scripture was 2 Corinthians 4:7. Scriptures like
that sustained her in her service to Jehovah God.
