He served as a combat engineer in Vietnam he returned to Colorado and married Mary Jane in 1983. He enjoyed loud music, woodworking, and over-engineering household items.

His jokes are survived by his daughters: Belinda (MN), Diana and Jeannie (CO); and sons David and John (CO); his 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; as well as his brother Dick Garcia (AZ). He leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, humor, stubbornness, and self-reliance.

Ray follows Mary Jane to heaven to see his son, Paul Zanol, his twin Ronnie Garcia, and sister Elaine Garcia.
