Pauline Van Calligan, 88, formerly of 1820 S. 9th St., died Monday, Aug. 25, 1997, at Sunny Ridge Nursing Home.
Bom September 22, 1910, in Sheboygan, Pauline was a daughter of the late Frederick and Marie Margraff Ruppel. On September 22, 1937, she was united in marriage for 49 years before Donald preceded her in death on January 31,1987.
Mrs. Van Calligan was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, and a former member of The Navy Mothers. Club and the Sheboygan Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Judy Van Calligan, Jr., Sheboygan; three grandchildren, John (Kim) Van Calligan, Susan (Marc) Durant, and Cathleen Van Calligan, all of Sheboygan; two great-grandsons Derek and Tyler Van Calligan; three brothers, Henry and Clarence Ruppel, both of Sheboygan, Edward Ruppel of California and three sisters, Ruth Van De Kreeke of California, Esther Siebold, Sheboygan Falls, and Emilie Mass, of Sheboygan.
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m.. Wednesday (TODAY), August 27, at the Lippert Funeral Home, 1132 Superior Ave. Entombment will be in Garden Terrace Mausoleum of Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. Gregory Whelton, pastor of St. John's United Church of Christ, will officiate. Relatives and friends are welcome at the funeral home (TODAY) from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. John's United Church of Christ.
